All the ramifications of the Trump presidency will not be fully understood until his presidency is in the past. One effect, the alarming rate at which journalists have ceased to feign independence, is a tragedy, or a blessing, depending on your point of view. Those who have noticed the hidden agenda of the left-wing press for the past few decades are happy to see them exposed.
Still, every so often it amazes me how the press no longer even tries. Dan Rather is no longer an active member of the press but he stands as a respected journalist emeritus in high esteem. Here is what he said about the Supreme Court tilting to the right:
Keep in mind that is a SCOTUS pick that Mitt Romney would have made. This is not a Trump faux pas or a crazy earth shattering new Trump policy. However the press voicing their bias is so humdrum that a beacon of independence openly states that the court tilting right is the end of democracy. Let that sink in. The man feeding us news for decades feels that conservative ideas are the end of democracy. Unbelievable, and he has no shame in doing this publicly.
He may as well be as unhinged as CNN Legal expert Jeffrey Toobin who sees the apocalypse in our future.
One of the startling new methods CNN has employed to fight for the Democrat’s positions is their use of anchor-tears. By this I mean, changing issues from Right Vs Left into Right Vs Wrong and then crying , gasping and wailing on air over the perceived injustices perpetrated by conservative policy. With this tactic they believe anchors can take a position on issues and still be accepted as credible journalists.
Here is how it works… Do Republicans believe that it is not the government’s place to provide health insurance or are Republicans evil people in support of babies dying? Do Republicans believe in lowering taxes or do they believe in stealing money from the poor and giving it to the rich? Do Republicans believe that we need to enforce border security or are they racists?
When the problem arose regarding how children brought over the border illegally were being treated, tears emerged in horror of Trump’s position. The audience will not hear the other side of the story, because this is a “moral issue” to CNN. There is only one side to this story.
But what if we did what CNN anchors refuse to do and used our brains to think about the issue facing the children?
The media got their way. Due to an onslaught of bad press an executive order signed by Trump apparently made it illegal to separate children from their parents . However this is not good policy. It is already illegal to hold a child with the parents for 20 days. Therefore the government can’t hold the child separately, nor can they keep the child with the parents. This leaves one option, the government must release the entire family into the US. The executive order, unless it had qualified language in it, essentially gave a free-entry ticket to anyone caught crossing the border illegally – if they bring children.
What will happen to children on the other side of the border as a result of this policy will be many times worse than what the US Dept of HHS did to children. The media will not write articles or do human interest stories on the death, rape and heartless behavior that human smuggling spawns. They will certainly not discuss how this new policy will effect the savagery. It doesn’t fit the agenda.
During the week of February 4th, many proponents of fairness in the media felt shock after seeing the most recent hire at CNN. Who was this new recruit? Josh Campbell, the FBI agent who publicly authored a NY Times opinion piece against Trump. In response to the personnel move, Donald Trump Jr tweeted, “You would think their stable is full in the hate on Trump department. Ahh, who am I kidding? It’s CNN of course there’s more room.”
What did Trump Jr mean?
One might think that Don Jr was referring to the hosts. Perhaps Jake Tapper, a former writer for a far left publication? Maybe Chris Cuomo, the son and brother of pillars of the democratic party? Or could it be Jim Sciutto, a former Obama official, who comes with former Obama officials as sources? These three are just a taste of the issue with hosts but this is not the travesty Don was referencing.
Another theory would be Don Jr was referring to the stable of pundits who appear on panels. It is quite common to find entire panels of anti-Trump perspectives. Many of the experts at CNN are direct hires from the Clinton/Obama machine. ‘HIres,’ such as regulars, Gloria Borger and David Axelrod or even the contributors like Neera Tanden, John Podesta and Robby Mook or even the countless guests who easily outnumber supporters of Trump 5-1. (With the ‘1’ being self-hating republican Anna Navarro)
The true problem Don Jr saw was that CNN is boldly and irreverently hiring symbols of the resistance. The pattern is too much to ignore.
After mounting a campaign to be President in the state of Utah, with the sole purpose of thwarting the Trump presidency, Evan McMullin was hired as consultant at CNN.
When reporter April Ryan engaged in a public fight with the President and became a hero of the resistance she found herself working at CNN a day later.
After the media pretended Preet Bahara was a hero for getting replaced by the Trump administration, Preet got a paycheck from CNN.
Once James Clapper broke tradition and called Trump a threat to democracy he found that he earned a part-time gig at CNN.
The amount of time between the acts of #resistance and the hiring is troubling. One might ask if Josh Campbell was promised a job in return for his op-ed.
The bias at CNN is quantifiable if anyone cared to look. The only remaining question is why Sally Yates did not cash in, did she have a better offer at MSNBC?
You might imagine that when CNN does a non-news segment, you would get a break from their propaganda. In actuality, imagining is the only way to get a break from the network’s spin. Christine Romans hosts the business segments on CNN. Apparently they won’t play nicely with her at break unless she perverts her segments to knock Trump like everyone else. And she wants friends.
Most everyone in economics, on both sides of the political aisle, understands that when the economy is strong the Fed can raise interest rates. Low interest rates are an economic stimuli and the Fed can’t keep a stimulus running forever. Janet Yellen was able to begin raising interest rates under Obama and hopes to continue under Trump. But how does CNN portray the upcoming hikes?
Is she serious? Her graphic includes every negative aspect of “what a fed rate hike means to you.” She highlights all the ways higher interest rates can hurt an individual via higher payments on credit card, auto and home loans. How about the ways it can help:
Increased interest on savings accounts & CDs
More earnings in 401(K) plans
More money in student 529 plans for college
This Lady does this type of propaganda constantly. She twists the booming stock market story into something only good for the rich, and don’t get me started on her tax lessons. CNN does get credit for consistency though.
CNN is circling their prey as they lie in wait for tonight’s unveiling of Trump’s Afghanistan strategy. The President has two distinct options: withdraw from Afghanistan or stay and continue the war. CNN will remain in a holding pattern all day and not offer any preference via anchors or pundits so they are free to attack whichever option Trump chooses.
If Trump chooses to withdraw they will attack. CNN, and the democratic strategists, have a few game plans to go with and likely will start with all of them and wait to see which sticks:
Bannon influence still running the White House
First US President to lose a war (surrender)
Trump wasting the sacrifice of so many soldiers
Flip flopping on promise to fight terrorism
Not listening to generals (White House in disarray)
Trump doesn’t have the stomach for war and he will look weak to our enemies
If Trump chooses to stay he will also be attacked. Once again CNN, and the democratic strategists, have a few game plans to go with and will likewise start with all of them and see which sticks:
Trump letting generals run White House
Trump will get soldiers killed for no reason
Flip flopping on promise of a withdrawal
Attack announced strategy of an unwinnable war
As we discussed earlier, the main goal of CNN is to chip away support of “the base.” So if we had to guess their favored outcome, we would go with stay in Afghanistan. CNN can then really focus on the betrayal of his base. If the network had any integrity this would be difficult for them. As avid Hillary supporters, CNN aligns strongly with the philosophy of retaining a military presence in Afghanistan, but if Trump chooses that option they have to go with their higher calling; shitting on Trump.
